Montana State University’s Foundation Relations staff works with national and regional foundation donors to secure private support for university priorities. We identify potential private foundation partners and develop relationships with these funders on behalf of faculty and staff across Montana State University. Schedule a consultation with the Office of Foundation Relations or learn more here.
For private grantmaking foundations, the Office of Foundation Relations is your access point to partnering with Montana State University faculty and students on the leading edge of academic excellence. As the state’s land-grant university, MSU educates students, creates knowledge and art, and serves communities by integrating learning, discovery, and engagement. MSU is especially known for applying research-based solutions to real world challenges. The Office of Foundation Relations can work with you to advance your foundation goals and increase your impact through investing in new pilot programs that spur meaningful change or through supporting outstanding faculty and staff whose work affects the lives of thousands of bright, dedicated students.
For MSU faculty, staff and administration, the Office of Foundation Relations coordinates submission of university proposals to private grantmaking foundations. We are here to support you in the following ways:
- Identifying and approaching potential private foundations
- Planning and coordinating private foundation solicitations
- Assisting with inquiries and grant proposals, particularly with reviewing drafts of letters of inquiry and proposal narratives
- Gathering supporting materials
- Assisting with submissions
- Providing stewardship assistance once the grant is awarded
We also help convene campus conversations around themes of interest to foundations and organize and host foundation visits to MSU.
