Barbara Gamradt

Barbara Gamradt was born and raised in Fairfield, Montana, where she graduated from Fairfield High School. After high school, she married Stephen Gamradt ’72, also a Fairfield native and alum. They moved to Bozeman immediately after their marriage, and Barb worked at the A&W on the NW corner of campus while Steve completed his final two years of chemical engineering. Upon Steve’s graduation, they moved to St. Paul-Minneapolis where Steve worked for 3M and Barb worked for Sears.

They had three boys after which Barb began her volunteering career at the boys’ school, in PTA and Cub Scouts. Barb soon started working at various elementary schools for South Washington County School District #833 where she compiled nearly 20 years of service. She did this all while raising three boys who played soccer in the summer, hockey in the winter and Cub/Boy Scouts year-round. Her scouting activity soon morphed into becoming a Cub Scout Leader and later a Scouts County Commissioner. She did all this while helping all three sons earn the highest rank in scouting, i.e., Eagle Scout.

Barb retired from the School District and Steve retired from 3M in 2007, after which they moved to The Villages, Florida. They immediately (2008) started up the Central Florida Cat-Griz Watch Party that continues to go strong with approximately 50-60 attendees each year. Barb and Steve love the rivalry and comradery and have met so many great people on both sides. GO MSU BOBCATS!!!
